I am in the process of replacing bushings on all 4 corners. I would like to know what has been the replacement bushing of choice for street driving.
I see the Poly-everything types but I am more interested in a soft quite ride for the street. Other than OEM bushings what and were can I find equivalent rubber bushings?
Also the principle of operation is different, the original bushings are fixed and flex the rubber, while the poly bushing are free to rotate in the mounts. Are there wear issues with the rotation?

Poly bushings eliminate almost all flex from the suspension, allowing more precision in steering & handling. Rubber bushings have a designed-in delay in responding to forses (either yours or the road's). To my knowlege, there are no wear issues associated with poly bushings; mine have been in the car 23 years now with no detectable wear. My wife drives our Pantera and notices no change in quality of ride with poly bushings. Some do squeek in use, though, requiring periodic greasing. The only exception to the above is when using poly bushings on the outboard ends of the front and rear sway bars. Due to the design of the bars and the a-arm travel, a mechanical bind is generated with poly bushings that is much less serious with the more pliable rubber out there. Using polys on outboard bar ends, I've seen the steel mounts crack off the a-arms in the rear.So I recommend rubber on both outboard bar ends, or use the so-called 'sphere-ball' outboard bar mounts sold by many vendors. This assembly retains the rigidity of poly, enhancing the effect of the swaybar with no binding and complete freedom of motion.
Sure is. I have added zerk fittings on all the ball joints, both tie-rod ends and the lower rear pivot shafts as well as my full-poly suspension bushings. They all get a Spring greasing. FYI, US zerks are threaded 1/4-28, and one only needs a couple of threads to hold them in place. There are adapters for making 45 or 90 degree fittings, extended fittings and others Those adapters may be threaded larger than 1/4-28.

The previous owner(s) installed zerks in the top front ball joints only. I removed one and measured the thread, it is 8mmx1.0 I have a source for these straight, 45, and 90 degrees. The tech article explains to drill & tap the center of the up-right casting and also drill through the inner steel sleeve. This will allow grease to fill the cavity between the casting and sleeve as well as between the sleeve and the rod. Is this still current advice? Thanks.
Squeek, is due to only bolting the new bushing on the car. Panteras are not alike, and the ears on the car may be located slightly different. The poly bushing is not compressible. That�s why they not flex.
When forced in to place on a misalignment, they will squeek. Therefore those bushings MUST be turned to fitment. And the other side shimmed correspondingly. THEN, some grease (polly grease) want hurt.
