Hi,
I took out my drivers seat today, as it clearly had a break in the frame, however I was shocked to find the metal 'pan' of the seat base broken in 6 places, and badly distorted. I am therefore looking for one or two stock Pantera L seats (I have a US 1974 model), or alternatively 2 Gr3 seats. I am based in Europe, but seats in the US also have interest.
Cheers, Tim

What you have is typical of the fragile '73-'74 1-piece U.S seats. Stock '71-'72 seats seem to be heavier-duty and have fully removeable backs. They can easily be made to recline a few degrees by slotting the backside straps and adding knobs to the hold-down bolts. This radically upgrades the comfort level- especially when the seat padding is recontoured. I'm 6-2" with long legs and my co-driver is 5' 4", so such rake adjustment is necessary for pleasant long- distance trips. Roland Jaeckel in Germany and Roger Brottan in England both have several wrecked Panteras of various years- call them to see what's available. Shipping seats from the U.S will likely be cost-prohibitive and adequately weld-bracing the seats you have is a serious engineering job.
FWIW, I don't like the Euro seats that recline from that period, simply because of my height and the Euro seats being much thicker in seat & back. They push me up and fwd to the point that I can't get comfortable. I much prefer the earlier seats when modified a little.
I have a pair of seats out of a 1973L in my loft. The vinyl is torn so they need new covers, (quality foam and covers is available from SACC restorations).

You can have them for the cost of shipping.

If you want to get the covers and foam, I'll put it all in the same box. Or I can strip them down to just the frames and ship.

If you are interested let me know and I'll get them down to take some photos.
