Ok, time to fix a small nagging problem. My front trunk latch has never closed easily. You have to slowly close the lid and then firmly push down over the latch area. It has never shut by dropping it from any height( not that it should ), but it takes a real firm push to latch. This is true even without weatherstrip in place and the latch is adjusted to correct position. Maybe just need a new one? What is the cross reference?

I have always had the same problem. I just bought an electric pull down latch. I am going to try to convert mine.

mine takes a medium "push" on the bonnet to get it to latch, I think that's fairly normal. Hit the latch mechanism with a shot of WD40 and see what happens, can't hurt.
