type oil for steering box

what type of oil do i use for the rack and pinion box? i think it might be 30w oil, but i'm unsure.

Motor oil is too thin to cushion the rack & pinion gears. Rear end lube (75W90 or equivalent) works well. Be sure the boots are in one piece & clamped tightly, or the lube leaks out while you're installing the thing.
