I assume when you say big you mean wide and not so tall that the car wants to fall over and looks like a 4X4. The 335/35ZR17 looks pretty nice on an 11 wide rim with a tire section width of 13.2. The 345/30ZR18 has a section width of 13.9 on a 12 wide wheel but from the side it looks mostly like a wheel and no tire. Both tires are about the same height at 26.2 or about the same as the stock tire. Muffler and body clearance can be a problem on some cars but in my case my Dunlop 335/35ZR17s on 11 wide Pantera East rims fit very nicely.

Mike indirectly makes a good point... such a good point he makes it twice!! :-)

There is a certain amount of variability with these cars, especially after 30+ years. What fits on one car might give you problems on another car - exhaust interference can be a problem on certain cars and not on others.

That being said, I'd make sure that your favorite wheel vendor allows you to return the rolling stock if you can't make it work for your application... there are horror stories about people with very expensive living room decorations now because they got the backspacing wrong, or because their car was not symetric, or...

Finally, as Mike says, I've seen rear tires of up to 345 wide crammed under a stock body...
