By removing the motor and pulling the whole cable out?

Is that a statement of fact or a question?

The cable would need to be rotated out. The two pivots would need to be held in place while this is being done both removing and installing.

I don't know. That is why I am asking. No one seems to know.

It is basically the same unit installed in about 95% of European cars and yet the removal instructions from Triumph are different.

This is all the detail available. Very unspecific on how to "remove the pivot components".

If memory serves, it's a Lucas 14W motor and plugging that into Google will give an exploded diagram which makes disassembly straightforward.

The motor isn't the problem. The wiper pivots are.

Here is a picture of an MG pivot. See how it differs from the Pantera's? It has no cap on top of the gear, just the naked gear.

With the MG, the cable just falls out when you remove the bottom cap.

With the wiper arms removed the cable pulls out and the wiper pivots just spin freely. I've had mine out multiple times having made my custom wiper arms. It then goes back in the same way. You will push it through the tube and the pivots need to be free to spin as it threads in.

I made the incorrect assumption you were talking about the motor! Never mind - it's good to mark the position of the shaft on the wheelbox before pulling the cable out; that way you can reinstall 180 degrees from original thus having the cable operate on an unworn segment of wheel.

Probably best to remove the cable prior to unbolting the pivot assemblies. I was able to unbolt the motor and unscrew the flare bolt on the tubing under the fender and pull the motor and cable out together. Then you can pull the cover on the motor and remove the cable from it.
