I am in the process of wiring my engine management system into the Pantera and had a couple questions. First a little background information. The engine is a modular 5.4L DOHC with an Independant Runner FI Intake. I am using ACCEL GEN 7 DFI for engine management. Here are my questions.

I need a source wire for switched 12v in start/run can I use the old pink coil wire, alternatives?

The GEN 7 also controls the a/c clutch relay. There is 1 wire that is supposed to go to the a/c relay how do I wire it to the a/c relay? I think it replaces the red 12v wire from fuse 7, am I correct?

The pink wire is un-fused 12v, directley from the key. You may arange for a fuseblock, if not in the engine wiring.

Sorry,I dont understand the GEN7 Q:s.
At the relay, you have a W/bk wire that comes from the thermostat. A pink or red wire for power supply and a g/bk that runs to the AC pump.

My 1972 wiring diagram indicates a pink wire that supplies +12V to the ballast resistors and coil, it could be used to supply the key switched +12V. The pink wire also connects to a red wire that connects to a throttle solenoid as well. I have used this lead for my add-on's and modifications.

Are you sure the A/C connection is to operate the A/C compressor? I cannot see why, I would think that the A/C connection is to increase the idle speed when the A/C is turned on, therefore it would be an input to the Gen 7. Most modern cars increase idle speed and even have an input from the power steering pump to increase the engine speed during parking.

I will try the pink wire for my switched 12v.

You are correct the A/C connection is to increase idle speed and disengage the a/c clutch at a given rpm. It also activates the fans when the a/c is turned on. I found out the a/c connection from the Gen 7 replaces the ground on the a/c relay.
