Automobile Mag's "100 Coolest Cars".Check out the link below.

Not that I give a rat's ass, but guess which car is absent?

The Mangusta is at #64.But the quality of this rag's list is shown with the Lancia Stratos at # 8.

Yeah. Great list. So strapped for bad ideas they had to list the Bentley Continental twice! 24th and 57th. Cool cars? BMW 635CSi? Porsche Carrera GT? (OK, expensive, but cool? — I don't think so) and my favorite: The Ford GT MKIII - almost universally heralded in the GT40 community as the ugliest version of the GT40 ever built.

All that bitching aside, most of my other faves are there. Oh, and I will admit that I love the Citroen SM (flame suit on), but even I wouldn't put it ahead of the Mclaren F1. Come ON!
A Beetle? minibus? mini cooper? a Friggen HORNET? This list was evidently composed by some lazy staffers that just threw in a bunch of car names in a bucket which were then just pulled out by random. The only reason that a Pantera was not mentioned is the simple reason that those dolts probably have never seen or heard of one! Maybe the real reporters or heaven forbid editors, or so called experts were on VACATION somewhere.

What a rag.

A very poorly thought out list.

Very controversial indeed. I cannot remember when the DeTomaso Pantera has been omitted from any list of cool cars, exotics etc.

I will not diss the Lancia Stratos however. In my younger days I religiously followed rally racing and there was nothing as cool a rally car as the Lancia Stratos powered by its 2.4L Ferrari Dino V-6 engine. World Rally champion in its day. Way cooler than anything in rally racing before or since - in my opinion. Subaru WRX, Audi Quattro, Renault 5 Gordini, Ford Escort, .... or ... Lancia Stratos. No, I cannot diss No. 8 for that car.

I remember a family next door to me owning one - it was blue with a black top. I used to watch the ass end raise and lower by about a foot each time he shifted. You couldn't miss that move since his hand went damn near through the windshield each time he changed gears.

As a kid walking to school I was able to spot Chevy Novas and Chevelle 396s, Impala 327s and 409s, Sting Rays with Cragar mags, Ford Fairlanes and Galaxy 500s with 427s, Dodge Darts and Valiants and all the other cool stuff back then.

Somehow that ugly European wedge wheezing down the road did nothing for me. Actually, still does nothing for me.

Oh yeah. Also near me was my friends' dad's Olds Starfire we used to steal at night - lots of HP in that! - a metalflake blue Buick Riviera, a yellow Avanti and the Pontiacs starting to get hot rod motors. Heck, my dad's Olds 98 and Mom's AMC Rambler would smoke the tires all the way down the block.

Who cared about a Citroen?

Hey Guys - not that i'm necessarily a lover of SM's, but they do have the Citroen Maserati 2.7 V6 is them - the same as in a Maser Merak.
Suspension is "Hydro-pneumatic" - very good ride, but the spheres tended to wear and were expensive to fix.
BTW the headlights hydraulically adjusted to look around corners when you turned!
And the power steering was from the same pump.
And the clutch actuation.....
Just another case of Citroen engineering lunacy I suppose.

Doesn't SM stand for Sado-Masochism?
