Hi;
My basket case of a car did not come with an alternator. I want to convert to a 3g alternator. I know there are a lot of discussions on this site and others but does someone have a wiring diagram for this conversion. I dont want to keep the original regulator either. I have an orange, green , yellow, and blue with black stripe wire at the regulator, what do I hook these up to? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you mean one-wire and 3-wire?

A three wire has the regulator built into the alternator.

Personally, the lure of the one wire is lost to me on a Pantera. It does help clean up the wiring, and on a standard front-engined car, that means a nicer looking engine compartment. But on the Pantera, that wiring is not seen in the first place. Thus my loss as to why folks go to the one-wire.

The conversion does cause problems with your dash indicator light, too.
