$22K 1972 Pantera w/ 38K miles on Craigslist VIN????

That car looks pretty original. Of course the big question (unaddressed in the ad) is the rust issue. Might be a good deal for someone, and it does appear the owner is a little out of touch with the cars; could be good or not.

Anyone nearby to take a look?

Looks kinda nice. Too bad there are no shots of the engine bay, possible alarm or tricky ignition selector switch.

And don't ask questions. And he won't take any more pictures.

I'm local to that car. If anyone wants me to go take a look at it for them just let me know.

Saw this post on the other forum a week or two ago. The pictures show some damage to the right front fender right above the bumper. Also I recall the car had a fair amount of rust...look really close at the pictures on the base of the doors, in front and behind the door on the left side. You might look at the other forum...someone might have already gone to look at it. Surprised it hasn't already sold if it was such a great deal.

Before you all get too excited, has anyone made contact yet and physically spoken with the seller?

It's a Craigslist advert with no phone #, so that rings alarm bells straight away. It may be genuine but in my recent Craigslist experience its a cesspit of scammers and trolls.

There are four or five posts on Dec 14 on the other forum and they mention lots of rust. I recall the original listing had a lot more pictures of the car that showed the rust, but when you click on the listing link that was listed on the other forum it is no long valid which means it was pulled down or modified. Julian could be right.

I too saw it listed on another site. A couple of the people there went to look and said its a complete rust bucket.....too the point that some of the holes were taped over. Additionally the ZF would not shift into the lower portion of the gate which could be just a linkage issue but.....

Also according to the few that were able to talk to the owner he is not much fun to deal with.

If you've ever posted on craig's list, you'd learn not to post your phone numbers or email addresses. I got tons of spam and other unwanted solicitations via email. Leaving your phone number brings you a ton of spam text messages. The safest way is to receive contact through the Craig's List email and call those who leave phone numbers. Same goes with Ebay.
