A couple of months ago I enterd my car for the Creme De La Chrome show in Denver over Thanksgiving weekend. I was thinking that would be enough time to put the car back together. I think I had the car put back together 4 days before the show. That was cutting it a little close!
The judges looked the car over three times in two days. I kept wondering what I could have done better. I saw the judges go back to look at this or that and I saw them shake their heads back an forth. Ugh! It isn't about the award, I just wanted to know what I could have improved on.
It went a lot better than I thought it did in the end. The car won its class (mild sports) and it won Outstanding Sports Engine, Outstanding Sports Paint and Outstanding Sports Interior. I couldn't stop shaking!
Best of show went to a 1934 Dodge built by Kindig-It Design. I met the Kindig-It guys. Great guys! They came back a few times to look at the Pantera. It was a flattering weekend!

I did a lot of work last winter onthe interior. I tried to do as much as i could by myself. I pulled everything out and put in new carpet, sound material, and new Cobra Misano 30th anniv. seats. I did the headliner and inner kick panels in alcantara. I had the leather work done and the carbon fiber work done though.

I was admittedly nervous about customizing the interior as much as I did. I wanted to retain the basic layout of the original interior and dash.
The door panels and armrests are actually the fiberglass bits from the suppliers. I just screwed the door panel and armrest together from the back to make them one piece.
My carbon fiber guy used that foam shaping stuff you mix up and apply before it dries and hardens to blend the door panel and armrest together and create the ridge along the top and back. Once that stuff set up and was sanded and worked for days, the carbon material was put in place over them and covered with resin. The outer 1/2" is painted black and cleared to give them a "finished" look.
The leather was done to match the seats. In the pictures it looks really busy but it doesn't when you see the car in person. I appreciate the kind words guys. I had a lot of second thoughts about the interior plan I had for the car.
