Just found out about CHI's new 4V aluminum Cleveland cylinder head, over on the Cleveland Engine Forum.

Cylinder Head Innovations (CHI), whos heads are sold by PI Motorsports, now provides 4 choices in aluminum Cleveland cylinder heads.

The 2V head has a 2V size intake port located in the stock 2V location. Any 2V cleveland intake will work.

The 3V & Engine Maters heads have a 2V size itake port located higher, so that the roof of the port is as high as the roof of a 4V intake port. The 3V port is 218cc in volume, the Engine Masters port is 185cc in volume. CHI's line of high rise, single plane intake manifolds fit these heads, or you can bolt a 2V manifold to these heads using manifold spacers sold by CHI.

The 4V head is new to the market, it has a 3V size intake port that flares open to mate with any 4V intake manifold, like the Blue Thunder, or Edelbrock Torker.

All 4 heads have a "universal" exhaust port that will work with any 2V or 4V exhaust header.

In my opinion, there is no reason to any longer invest money in the cast iron heads, unless you want to keep it looking stock for concours show car reasons.
