I think a conservative estimate is around 500hp/tq. He has an engine dyno so we will know before putting it in the car. It would have been easy to put a cam getting a lot more but it would have narrowed the powerband and taken it to a much higher rpm. This will get large amounts of power at low rpm and keep the tq through the rpms.
I've got 2 questons. Did the issue regarding the "lagging" of the head flow numbers get addressed by CHI; and what intake will you be using, how are you adapting it?
George, If you look at the flow numbers, the lower numbers are a slightly smaller quite a bit larger further open. Right off I doubt it would be that big of a deal BUT....Tim went ahead and releave the materal around the seat which was the root which should return the numbers.
Intake is our next step. I sent him a new Weiland for the 400 but there are some issues. I'll let you know how it goes.
I have talked about how good a 400 would be for the Pantera. I figured it was time to put my $ where my mouth was.
This is a 400 stroker which is almost identical to the Cleveland. I think it has a lot of potential and has largly been over looked. More because I wanted to do a 400.
It is pretty cool! Since this is an unusual buildup, try to take as many pictures of the 'deviation points' as possible as you go along. Broaden our horizons!
I will, if we can get a regular source for bellhousings it would make it a natural choice. I am going to take several measurements of my cleveland before I remove it so I can make sure I get everythign to fit as needed.
