The Ghia Logo "horn button" is impossible to find so I decided to cast my own. Eventually this will fit the Momo type button...after some diameter adjustments and reprinting/casting. Another useless project for my car....

Nice work. Looks great.
Thanks. This is an ongoing little project just to see what is possible. When I was in the Auto design business, we had a team doing logos/badges in print, metal or resin covered. I didn't do the stuff myself but my staff did and I just copied how they did it! So its not me really...
How do you get the “Domed” look to the button, or do you have a vertical edge?
Trying to do some wheel centers!
Thanks!
Rocky
The resin has enough surface tension so that it will act like a water drop and round off when it reaches the edge of the support. We use to do many auto stickers (prototypes for production) by printing the logo/image on 3M covering type film and then carefully using a dropper, apply liquid resin from the center outward until it reached the edges. Then can go back and add more to get extra thickness. The product we used was a Urethane two part mix and did have a certain flexiblity once set up. For the pieces I just made I used another product that is called "Glazing Resin" and it sets up harder and does the same effect. (actually got it from a crafts store!) The center caps should be on a metal support? and you can just lay them down on foil and add the product. Or, you can put it on something like a socket from the tool box to raise and then add the resin. My badges were printed on a metal chrome support but I just laid them out on foil. I just received another product..today actually.. and it is another resin and I am going to do another test. Just another project against retirement! Here is a ink to a source in the US of A for the resin I used as in my photos https://www.dickblick.com/item...uDBdWC83g2l-j5Skivaf
Have fun, Dan
Thanks, Dan -
I’ll give it a try, I have a clear, 2 part resin I’m going to use…. Waiting on the stickers.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Rocky
Its sort of like a epoxy glue that sets up slowly without bubbles and very, very clear compared to other stuff.

Hi Dan, they looks good.
is it possible to buy one or two for my PB projects ?
regards
Simon
Hi Simon, if they all come out ok I'll send you some. I am doing some different sizes and different resins. Will let you know once I am done.
regards, Dan
Hi Dan,
thanks ,on the moment I have 2 PB Pantera's , both are missing the Ghia hornbutton, it wold be nice when I can buy one or two.
regards
Simon
I may be mistaken, but only the 137 U.S 'GTS' cars got a Ghia wheel center. I think all standard Panteras on both sides of the Atlantic got one with the usual blue & white Argentine flag turned sideways. Not sure what the Mangustas got, either.
I did the Ghia graphic and had a company do a horn button for me. Ill see if the ones I am doing/casting come out the same or better? This one is pretty nice. Its not an exact graphic/size reproduction since I only had photos and some badges to play with Anyway, the person now has the graphic and can do up buttons for people if wanted. About 45 dollars or so since the custom graphic is already done. This fits Momo and other wheels with the standard Momo center diameter. Also fits the Ferrero wheel since it has the same as Momo mounting plate. Done for me by Revlimiter. Look them up RevLimiter.net

I am so impressed with the Ghia horn button that Adam makes. It looks even better than the photos! Ordered on Tuesday, received it in 6 days.
Happy you like these!
Sightly off the subject, but in the '90s, a Swedish POCA member converted his stock "horn" button to actually blow the horn on his Pantera. He wrote an article that I published but being 30 yrs ago on a subject I didn't try myself, I don't remember the details but its in the searchable POCA Archives

This is coming up sometime this year…
there is a rather easy way to make this work with a remote control in the steering wheel adapter hole, triggered by the horn button and the relay somewhere upfront..
have the parts already but no time yet..
Thanks Jim. Mine is on its way!
I ordered one of these caps from www.revlimiter.com for my '73 GTS last week. I have a MOMO Prototipo Black Edition steering wheel as the original Ferrera wheel was long gone when I bought the car, and the MOMO is a close match. The cost of the center cap was $45.00 plus shipping. It arrived in 4 days, installed easily using the parts provided, and is an EXACT, high-quality replica of the original. It is supposedly compatible with MOMO, Nardi, Sparco, Grant, and other after-market steering wheels. Highly recommended.
