I am looking at purchasing a 72 Pantera and the 90 degree gear is missing on the speedometer. Does that mean is is loose in the transmission? Could it be in the transmission and if yes should I drive it? If it is, how big a job is it to get it out? Also, can you tell how fast you are going without a speedometer? On my old Alfa you could put it in 5th and multiply the RPMs by 2(Ex 3000rpm equaled 70 mph. Thank you for your response.
