Today after 24 years as the caretaker of #4134 she has a new home. I delivered her to a local car enthusiast who has had the desire to purchase it for many months. I set a price I really did not expect him to accept but he did. The last drive even with a 90 degree temp and non-working AC was wonderful. The magnificent sound of the “Cleveland Symphony” emanating from the Mind Train exhaust system as always put a huge smile on my face.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the phenomenal people that have helped over the years maintaining my car. Without their help I would have given up years ago and sold the car. Most of these people I have never met in person. But they were always available by e-mail or phone to walk me through projects. Some even sent me parts, often free, not even allowing me to reimburse them for shipping. What a great community Pantera owners are truly blessed to have.

I would like to personally thank Mike Dailey and Dick Koch here in Atlanta who helped me with countless projects and never laughed at my dumb questions. Bill Taylor who designed and made a bushing press that I could use in a vice. Shipped it along with whole saws and everything else I needed for my suspension rebuild project. Jack DeRyke who answered countless e-mails for my questions I was too embarrassed to post on the e mail list or PI Forum. And my pal Jon Haas of Pantera Electronics for his consoling on all things electrical even non Pantera related.

Thank you again to all of you for your help and support. Take care and continue to enjoy these wonderful cars.

PS: I am looking for a well sorted/restored Jaguar E-Type Series I. Or maybe an early series II

Best wishes Jeff, you'll be missed around here. I'll bet you'll find yourself missing the Pantera from time to time. I am a fellow admirer of British machinery, both two wheeled and four wheeled, that includes the E-types. enjoy the new hobby, good luck finding just the right one.

Thought you'd enjoy the bit of humor below.

"Who knows, maybe there is Pantera #3 somewhere down the road."

Well Larry if some day I hit the lottery an SI Targa would be one of my purchases. Otherwise a third Pantera is unlikely.

George, I will most definitely miss the Pantera. Between # 4060 which I owned back in the mid 70s to early 80s and the 24 years with #4134 a Pantera has been an integral part of my adult life.

The E Type is a bucket list thing and is certainly not the same experience as a Pantera. Just different.
If I enjoy the E-Type I will probably retire from riding my 2007 Triumph Bonneville. I guess I'm getting old Frowner
