I picked up the adjustable rockers. It is the Crane kit. With the aluminum roller rockers and stud kit it came closer to $275 than $175. The plastic inserts in the guide plates seem like a good idea. I thought you had to use hardened push rods with guide plates before I saw this.
They recommend replacing the head bolts with socket (allen) head cap screws. Are the plain case hardened cap screws OK for head bolts or do I need something special?
Thanks

If you're not blowing head gaskets, I wouldn't bother changing head bolts. The Kevlar pushrod guides work well with stock unhardened pushrods but will wear in a few years. They are cheap to replace, though. In the meantime, if you find a set of hardened Boss pushrods, they are slightly longer and usually help the rocker geometry when going to an adjustable valvetrain.
I have the same set up but having problems with the adjustment lately. Never had problems before engine rebuild this winter. First time start up, Valves were out of adjustment because of NO compression in 2 cylinders, valves were open to far. Now it is poppping through the carberator? I adjust them 1/2 turn after zero clearence. This is a hydraulic cam and lifters.

what is going on?
