Some time ago Bosswrech offered an idea (below) that could help move more air through the engine compartment. Utilizing my original 914, broken plastic spoilers, I’ve fabricated and installed new steel spoilers for my 914 (will know next summer if they made a difference). However, I would like to install something similar to my Pantera. Has anyone tried it since this post? Could you provide pictures of the fabrication and installation?
Thanks!
“Virtually all the air going into the radiator and under the front exhausts into the low pressure area behind the window, after sweeping up past the engine. But if you're feeling experimental, the Porsche 914 had a small strip-spoiler under the car, just at the firewall, that was supposed to swirl air across the bottom of the engine (sealed engine compartment)for cooling. Try it and see if it does anything for you.”

Some people have replaced the quarter windows with something that looks like "elephant ears" to duct cool air into the engine bay. It would appear that they would need to be fairly large ears to stick out enough to grab fresh air. They then run ducts directly to the air cleaner to get some kind of ram-air effect. I couldn't tell you about how effective they are, I just offer it as something that I've seen that you may want to consider.
