I have replaced a deployed 1993 Dodge Spirit airbag with an airbag pulled at a wrecking yard from the same year/model Spirit.
The deployment no doubt prevented my son's injury in the t-bone accident he couldn't avoid when the other car pulled out in front of him, and I surely don't want to risk an inoperable airbag.
Upon ignition turnon, the 'air bag' dash light initially illuminates, runs the system check, and then turns off.
This tells me the replacement air bag is good to go, but perhaps there is more to this than I know.
Should I shell out the shop time to a Dodge dealer for them to run a system check, or save the money for gas?
thanks,
Larry
