Dennis,

It would be sad to see another one disappear forever. You'd be surprised what is repairable these days. It may be worth the effort if it has a clean title.

The alternative would be to source a body shell. Talk to some of the vendors to get opinions and cost, I suggest Larry Stock at PPC Reno, he has more than one shell sitting out back in his place, one I think is relatively straight but fire damaged.

It's bad. Frame is twisted up front and the impact tweaked up to the roof line. Door back on the lower body is fine though. It will be a good buy for someone who needs body panels for the rear portion. The driveline is still good, 40k miles and the motor looks like its been overhauled. After almost a year sitting, it started up on the first crank.

Shucks, that doesn't look all that much worse than Larry Finch's car was and look how good it came out.

I must disagree. I smacked a tree, hard, but the force was away from the cabin. Actually tore the lower A pillar forward. No cabin damage, no roofline damage, and while I shifted the front end over about 1", the frame was not damaged, front trunk not damaged, heck even the front hood was not damaged. Photos at the webshots link.

This one in Hawaii could be saved, but if mine took $35K, this one would be at least $50K.

Larry
