Dang - that reminds me of an old memory. I would have been in the late grades or junior high, about 10 +/- years old when the Batman series was on TV. My friend Mark and I would talk on the phone after every episode. His dad drove an Oldsmobile, and mine drove a Plymouth. He swore up and down that the Batmobile was built on an Olds chassis. I insisted that it was a Plymouth - with a Hemi of course! Guess we were both wrong - but it made for a good rivalry anyway. Those were the days......
I know this car comes up in discussion every couple of years, but has anyone thought about it's heritage being so similar to the iconic Bat Mobile?

From the Ford/Ghia/Barris came the 'Jackie Jackson Pantera' ...

Those are exhaust pipes coming from the front of the car leave me speechless, and look - you can see the Bat Mobile in the window behind the Pantera.

Here's a color shot of the car without the exhaust...
Batmobile:

I wish they would have kept the turbine inlets on the rear fins as in the original Futura, but....

The batmobile is really cool.

Jackson 5 Pantera:

What an abomination!

I think he used metal dryer hose on the downpipe...

I hope that doesn't bring 2M+ at the next Barrett-Jackson auction (but it might if Michael ever drove it!)
