Hi All,
I recently purchased the car I've wanted since I was in high school. I remember seeing pictures of Panteras in exotic car publications and to me they ranked right up there with the Vector and Lamborghini types. None of my friends back then (and even now) really knew what a Pantera was. I knew I wanted one though. The cars looked incredible in the pictures and then one day I actually saw one. Actually I saw one leave a Trans Am in its dust (no chance of getting a better look, being that I was driving a Chevette). The car always remained in the back of my mind and two years ago I had the insatiable desire to have one of my own. The information you all provide so willingly, along with the many other informative web sites out there, were a great asset to me in my search for my Pantera. I almost ended up with one that didn't stop, and needed a great deal of work to become a modest driver. Luckily that deal didn't work out. I now have #5280 parked in my garage (since October) and was able to log only 15 miles before I had to put it away for the winter here in Illinois. I felt guilty for buying such an outrageous toy for a couple of months, but seeing it every morning got me over that rather quickly. I'm still a bit worried about putting that power on the street, as the car has been modified to have no bumpers and has Hall's exhaust. Do you guys have any stories to share of your first few months of ownership? Is there anything I need to watch out for or update (I've already upgraded headlights, dash lights and added the fan/headlight relay mods). How about your first encounters with the police? Sorry to ramble but things seem slow in the discussions lately and I'm new to this. I always like to hear of other peoples experiences good or bad.
