I have a faulty ignition key cylinder. I have a replacement but haven't done the swap yet, anyone done this? Any tips? Is it difficult? How long to do - thanks.
I helped a friend do this when he lost his keys and had to obtain new ones and a new ignition cylinder. IIRC, the new cylinder came with excellent instructions from Pantera Performance Center in Colorado. IIRC, it required dropping the steering wheel assembly down to obtain better access to the ignition cylinder. Removal of it wasn't too bad. IIRC, you are then faced with the ignition cylinder assembly. There is a specific sweet spot on that assembly to drill into to release the actual ignition cylinder. That precise spot was detailed on those PPC instructions and I cannot recall them, but it was really the only "trick" to the process. Perhaps you obtained your replacement from PPC in Colorado?
