Are there any Pantera SI's in the US?

I am not sure if it is a re-bodied Pantera.
In the registry, Provamo, it does not show any SI's in the US.

Its a rebody. If you scroll down he tells the story about how it started life and was transformed using fiberglass fenders as a pattern for steel ones. Still looks great though! But the question persists.

The answer is no.

There are no Pantera SI's in the US. The only one I know of is Pat Mical's replica.

There were 41 built. 2 crash tested. 1 kept by the DeTomaso company/family. 38 sold. None in the US.

Wasn't there a twin turbo SI, strictly a race car, floating around north America at one time?

I didn't realize there was an SI replica around. It looks very well done!

I know there are some floating around in Europe. I do plan on visiting Italy and Germany at some point, but I would have to have a ton of luck to run into one along the way.

And by the way, love the username George! Very clever.

There was a replica that needed completed on E-bay about 8 months ago.
I may have a picture but will have to look. It was supposed to have original SI Detomaso sheet metal and parts.

in the collection out of which i bought my GT5S there is a SI.....in Antwerp. If you would be passing by i can ask for a visit .The owner was at Spa Franchorcamps "Italian days 2011" with that car.
IMHO, the SI looks to "modern" as compared to what i love in our GT5/GT5S....

Belgiumbarry, it will probably be a while, but hopefully I will be able to visit within the next couple years. I would love to see it if the owner is willing!

It does have that modern look, as you said. For me, the cars I get the most exited about are not always the best looking. I seem to be most starstruck by the extremely rare and obscure cars.

There doesn't even seem to be any videos of this car. I've come across a few on Youtube that showed one for a few seconds, but not much more.

I also remember seeing something on the old Top Gear (pre-2002) where they were going to test drive one to 200 mph. Anyone know if this footage is available?
