Some folks driving an Audi R8 were in Fillmore today. I didn't have the camera with me. I guess I should never leave home without the camera.
For those of you not informed about this car, its a true mid-engine 2 seat sports/GT car. It shares its chassis and transaxle with the Lamborghini Gallardo (Audi owns Lamborghini). Its base engine is a 4.2 liter V10, 420 bhp at 7800 rpm. An optional higher output motor will be offered during the second year of production, possibly the Gallardo motor.
First impressions:
Its a Lamborghini Gallardo with a higher roof line and an Audi interior. Not low & sleek like the Italian exotics we're used to, its still pretty good looking, looks better in person than it does in pictures. Priced "about $109,000" with the manual transaxle.
Like the Acura/Honda NSX this is an exotic you can tool around town and in traffic with.
