I have my ZF out. I also have my Aviad pan to install. what would be involved in installing the pan now. Do I still have to cut the crossmember and relocate the brake cables?

No.
IIRC, you never HAVE to do either.
BUT if you want to ever drop the pan, inspect bearings, change oil pump or whatever, the crossmember is in the way. And also the brake bracket, I think.
I have the Aviad, but Quella threw the stock emergency brake over the hedge and installed a line lock parking brake, so first-hand knowledge I don't have.

Yup. The removable cross member is just for access to dropping the oil pan, any oil pan when the engine is in the car.
It installs in place of the stock pan.

Larry, you DO realize that Jomar line-lock you have was built for fork-lifts and Bobcats, and is not a real e-brake brake, nor does it work as one. Hope you got those e-brake linkage parts back- they total around $400 nowadays if you need to replace them.....

Yup, note I called it a parking brake.
And I don't think mine is the standard unit usually used, as it is a rotary knob; unlike those I've used on forklifts.
ALL the parts Dennis removed from 2511, including all data plates but the dash riveted VIN plate and pedal box plate, were long gong by the time I assumed ownership.
