I just want to post a big, public THANK YOU! to Markus Woehler of Monterey for yet another demonstration of what the De Tomaso Family is all about.

A badly frayed throttle cable on my 2511 ( about three strands left intact ) is not something easily fixed during the Monterey weekend and it threatened to ruin Saturday at the Historics and a timely return drive to Fresno. Upon Mike Drew’s suggestion, I contacted Markus and he readily agreed to delay his departure to Laguna Seca so I could cautiously drive to his home where we removed the cable from his Pantera and swapped it over to mine.

This just goes to further confirm what most of us already know:

The De Tomaso cars are no doubt truly great to own but the real joy of ownership is belonging to the De Tomaso Family and knowing there are owners like Markus always willing to go beyond the call of duty to lend a helping hand.

Thanks again to Markus who saved the day.

When I bought my Pantera a couple of weeks ago, Gary Herrig, whom I had never met and had only talked with on the phone twice, volunteered to drive his truck and trailer down to Vancouver from Tacoma, Wa., which is a little over 2 hours each way, and bring the Pantera up for me.
The only pay he would accept was a full tank of gas at the end. If all Pantera people are as nice and helpful as Gary was to me it is indeed a great group of people.
