I see this pantera in the link below went for $45K at auction conclusion. I saw photos of the engine bay, and to me it was obvious tons of cash went into that car. But da wife says I am over the limit. Someone got a nice deal, maybe they will show up on this board, unless it was a dealer flipping it.

Just checked my notes from ebay, and I think this is the same car that had no sale reserve not met at $55K back in October 08. Attached are a few photos from ebay in 08 that I will post here and below. If this is the same car, and if so someone made a killing buying it for $45K.

I'm fairly certain this car sold at a 'buy it now' on ebay to a PI member. I believe that member was in California, again going on foggy memory. It was indeed - A BUY - now or then.

I'd not count the Pantera market out. If anything, I've seen unaltered cars bring good money versus some of the 'normal' competitors in this market. Down some, but notthing compared to many others, most muscle included.

The blue car here was - we hope - an aberration. Way under the money at $45k and a gorgeous car to boot!

Actually the bidding closed at no sale reserve not met at $55,200 in October 08, but if someone from this PI board bought it out of ebay I don't know about that. I contacted the seller from back in 08 to see if he sold it back then or not, so we will see. Since it was for sale in Detroit back in 08 and this acution was in the same area, I just figured it was the same dude now selling at an inperson auction.

Also, I am not saying the market is dropping, only that I know of three recent $150K++ built stock body show cars (not including original car cost) that went in the $45K - $50K range, and my thoughts are the buyers got good value deals (something I always look for when the wife isn't watching Smiler)

Again, my memory often recreates events to fit my rationale! I do recall those photos though, and that is a very nice car.

Sounds like you've researched it, and I agree, if for sale again in the same area with the time in-between, most likely the same group/consignor.

Apparently, you're in the hunt for another? (We'll presume your wife has left the room.) Did you add to your Pantera stash in the last year or so? Catch me up. This is where I wish the profiles here were a bit more complete.
The owner contacted me, and it is the same owner from way back. My bad, the car didn't sell. I looked closer at their auction cars sold page, and it indicated $45K, so at the time I just figured it sold for that. Maybe that was the top offer or something. He wants much more than that. It is going to another auction though soon. He doesn't type too well so I will have to try and figure it out if anyone is interested what auction it is and when.

Hudson, as for me, no new acqusitions recently, still just have my black 5S, red 5S and dark cranberry Group 4 as shown in the weblink below. I sold my orange car (ORNG UFO) though, still miss that orange bomber!! It sure was old school, woke the neighborhood with the roar.

You're assuming that she knows he currently has 3 - I don't know how he hides them, but maybe he has a 'bat cave' where he stores them (we don't know anyone like that here) and all she ever sees is him leaving for work or golf in the trusty 'ol Prius?

c'mon, tell us the secret, we all want a pride of cats too! Wink

Russ, I'm thinking she knows whenever he starts one (along with the entire ’hood). It certainly would make me happy to open my door to this! (image borrowed from Jan's gallery).

Lol must be nice! Better hope an earthquake doesn't demolish those beauties. The more I read and come into contact with Pantera owners, the more I find there are many owners with multiple Panteras. I was at a show last weekend and was told there was an owner here at one point with 7 panteras, but now resides in AZ or NM and has since sold them off, if I remember it right. I'm starting to think this is some kind of underground conspiracy to raise the value of our cars :P
Ha you guys are funny. I know, over the top Pantera fever, but I am condidering therapy. Yes, da wife and neighbors know the cars well. As they all try to sleep Saturdays, I crank over the red car 6AM for our local Cars & Coffee show with stroker sounding like Hot For Teacher on steroids in the garage warming up. Yes, Hustler, we have had some mean quakes here in CA, but the lift has held up well (so far Smiler). Just like you guys, I find the Pantera great value, like Lays potato chips, what do they say "just can't have one"?

Now back to the blue car: anyone interested in the blue car...owner says it will be at this auction below in May. I think it is the one Pantera without a photo and description yet, but keep watch maybe it will show up soon.
