I wanted to ask the board if anyone is familiar with Retrotek's BossEFI system. www.retrotekspeed.com The BossEFI is a speed density closed loop system which uses throttle position as well as manifold pressure, engine temp, and O2 feedback to deliver the precise A/F ratio for all load and boost pressures.
This system allows you to use you present intake manifold which is a plus. The system claims to have self tuning/learning software. The unit is the same dimensions as a 4150 Holley. The BossEFI comes in a 750cfm for under 500hp and a 1200cfm system for over 500hp. There is also a 2x4 option and compatible for super/turbo charging up to 30psi.

I have a 408 Fontana block (9.5" deck), 10:1 comp, Yates spyder intake, Blue Thunder heads, built by Hall with a 750 cfm doublepumper prepared by the Carburetor Shop to match the cam supposedly. It has vacuum secondaries. It runs fine but the carb is tempermental.
Would someone with knowledge explain the pros/cons of this type system versus an IR system pertaining to performance/drivability. Cost and ease of installation is a definite pro of this system.
Thanks in advance for any input and thoughts.
Don
