I just read this:

"Until his death, Coddington had a 50,000 square feet (5,000 m²) garage located in La Habra, California and had 70 employees. He died on February 27, 2008 while working on a car. While underneath a new hot rod being constructed, the transmission slipped into gear and the vehicle rolled over his neck. He was killed instantly."

on this website (last paragraph under 'Backround' at the top):

Wow, this is odd.

I checked the link to make sure it worked properly. I re-read the paragraph and noticed that the reference to the accident was gone. I closed it and reopened it again and now it says he died from liver failure!

Either someone erroneously reported an accident, or the family recanted thinking it too brutal for him to be remembered by.

My copy of AutoRestorer came today. It reported that he has been in and out of the hospital over the last month. Something about a fall and otherwise undisclosed problem.
