Has anyone attempted to or actually altered the brake and clutch pedals to created more separation between the two? I would like to create greater space between the brake and accelarator pedal which would involve moving both pedals to the left. I think my feet have gotten wider over the years, and if I decide to keep the car, I could use the additional freedom. Smiler
Thanks, zz

I just relocated them forward.
My opinion is that the brake pedal itself can not be moved.
The Master cylinder would need to be relocated as well if you did and you would need to make a new aluminum mounting plate.
The clutch pedal may be able to move to the left some but it is not a signifigant amount.
It may be possible to leave the brake pedal mount alone and bend the pedal itself to relocate it to the left.
By moving the pedals forward, some room is gained for the accellerator/brake relationship.
I moved mine forward 1-7/8". It helps alot.
Think out of the box. The mechanical end of the pedals need not be relocated, only the foot-to-pedal contact area needs to be altered. Change the position of the last 3 inches or so of the origional design right or left to suite your desires.........been there, done that.

Acknowledged, but the pedals are already on the small size side. Performing surgery on the right lower corner of the brake pedal itself helps a little.

A bolt on pedal pad can be added which will can give you a lrger contact area and located that pad area to the left or to the right.

Unfortunately not much can be done with the accellerator pedal. It is a unique piece.
Good suggestions, thank you. Seems like others have, or are having the same problem as me. Modify my feet, hummm, that really is outside the box.

edit: One thought - In my quest to keep the car origional, would changing the pedal configuration be considered modifying the car.
This is one of the best mods I made to my car. I got this from larry Finch AKA LF-TP. Trim your loewr right corner off the brake pedal. It doesent look like much, but it gives your right foot clearance. You can cut it with a grinder, just protect your eyes. It cost ne $150 to get a peice of metal out of mine.

I have the same problem. I was going to do like Last Pushbuton only shave the whole side and then attach one of those fancy drilled "Racing" pedal covers off set to the left. The ones with the corner already cut out of them. I was then going to do the same to the clutch so that even though the pedals themselves have not moved the foot contact surface has moved. I will let you know how it turns out.
