Now that you have pointed out the location of the wire that is attached to the break lights, just exactly how does this thing work. If I turn on the ignition and unplug this wire, the break lights go off. Of course, they do not go on at all with the wire disconnected. Just what happens with this connection. Is there a short in the connection on this block?
The connection is to the brake light switch, which is actuated by hydraulic pressure. Your switch may have failed in the 'ON' postion, which is unusual. Most fail OFF. Try a new sender which will NOT be available from Kragens or Pep Boyz, but all the Pantera vendors carry new ones. A VW switch will not fit, by the way in spite of rumors to that effect..
Wes, I purchased a new brake light switch about a year ago, installed it, and two weeks later replaced the MC and deleted the shuttle valve assembly. Therefore, I have a basically new switch available for 1/2 whatever the vendors price for a new one is. E-mail me at Tipo874@aol.com if interested. Bob R.
