We had a religious person join the forums over the weekend with a false e-mail address, and post a religious message. So I've changed a couple of settings on the forum, one requires new members to verify their e-mail address, the other requires them to read the terms of service.

I double checked this with a friends existing account, and it did not require her to verify her email address or read the terms of service. So the changes didn't seem to impact existing members.

Then I created a new account and it did require those things. So everything seemed to work OK.

However, I've had one complaint from a member that he had to verify his info and now can't see the pictures. Is anyone else having problems?

If you are asked to verify your e-mail, you'll have to go to your email box afterwards, and click on a link contained within the verifying email that will be sent to your email box.

If this is creating problems for you, let me know, I can always put things back the way they were. I'm just trying to scare the trolls away.

I have my login setting saved on my computer. it does not ask me to verify my e mail and it does not let me view pictures until i try to post a reply then it asks me to verify my login and then i can view pictures. i tried several times today and i experience this issue half the time. the other half it works fine.
There may be an issue with some of the older members if the e-mail address registered with groupee is not the same address you are currently using (i.e. your log-on is no longer the e-mail address you receive your email at). In that case, the verification e-mail will be sent to the old e-mail address. If that notice comes back to groupee as undeliverable, I have no idea what groupee's reaction to that would be.

If this is possibly anyone's situation I suggest logging into groupee and updating your email info.

Our internet community functions with Groupee software. To help everybody, I thought I would mention that problems with using the forums can often be traced to one of the following conditions.

(1) Your e-mail address that you use to log onto Groupee is no longer a functional email address, or it is different than the address you use to receive email.

(2) You use internet navigation software not supported by Groupee. For a while I used Adam's computer for my internet chores. He ran FireFox for internet navigation. Every once in a while, while logged onto the forums, the computer would "lock-up". To fix this, I would have to close the internet connection, re-open it, and log onto Groupee again.

(3) The settings of your internet security/anti-spyware/anti-spam/anti-virus software is "too secure" and may be preventing some piece of data from being exchanged. A cookie or something.

(4) You are logging-in to Groupee from a IP address that you normally do not log-in from (different internet provider, different physical location). If the IP address is different than the address Groupee is used to seeing you log-on from, it has occasionally (very rarely) blocked members.

(5) You have purchased or installed a new computer or laptop. Groupee has occasionally (very very rarely) blocked members who have installed new computers, even though they are operating from the same IP address.
