does anyone know of an inspector to check out a car that i am purchasing from P.I. in orange california? any help will be welome.

Jerry down at PI Motorsports knows these cars as well as anyone. I believe he would not due you wrong if you asked/or paid him to inspect the car.
In spite of the fact he is selling the car for the owner I don't believe he would not disclose any problems that he knows about. They also have a lift and know what problems to look for just based on experience.

I'm sorry but that is a way, way too big conflict of interest. As the seller's agent, he probably doesn't want to know what's wrong ; if he knows and doesn't tell every potential buyer, he may liable for misrepresentation. He should recuse himself.

What car are you looking at ? If not Jerry, Then maybe Hall Pantera, maybe Wilkinson Pantera, Pantera Specialists, Precision Pro Formance... All local in CA.
Just my 2 cents, but if you can't trust the Adlers and PI, who can you trust?
The magazine, this forum and so much of our Pantera life is made available because of their passion for the cars and their responsibility to DeTomaso owners. I don't think anyone has ever had a bad experience with them and they sure aren't looking for problems when they buy or sell a car.

the pantera named old school. i think its a beautiful car and low miles, what could could go wrong with thoes miles?
You don't see many stock looking cars like old school. It is a nice looking car, sounds like it has had some recent work on brakes
The pantera cars also had some problems with cooling and with the ring gear bolts backing out, Easily fix with more money.
Those tires are really cool too, But would probably have to be replace to make it safe and better driving.
The plates are not original California plates for the car, Meaning the car may have come from another state. Not a bad thing just a note.
Odometer miles might be correct if the tires are original

well guys, i want to thank all of your great advise. i appreciate it. i spoke to jerry at pi and what a nice guy. he spent as much time as i wanted on the phone. he faxed me a two page inspection sheet that was very informative, i highly reccomend pi to anyone that wants to get a pantera and i thank them.
