I would like to know what size of carburator and brand people are using on thier cars. HOLLEY< EDELBROCK< DEMON ETC. Also if you engine is modified or stock. Just looking for input

A 351C that you want performance from, whether it's mild or wild, will work best with a 750 Holley / 650 Demon. (these carbs are about the same size, the 2 companies measure flow 2 different ways)
Some people are running the Edelbrock performer intake manifold & a Holley 600 to improve the lower rpm operation of the big port Cleveland. This is a mis match of parts, but it does help, at the expense of the other end of the powerband.

I have a rebuilt, warmed over 351C. About 300 RWHP. ANSA GTS tri-y headers, GTS mufflers, Performer and Street Avenger 670. Still have no trouble running 120-140 mph, though standard wisdom wants a larger carb for the really high speed runs. Bigger carb WILL effect mileage by 2-5 mpg and takes away a bit of the low end grunt, but with 351 c.i. and the 4:22 rear, you'll still be getting good torque. I average about 14-16 mpg on a 'normal' highway trip @ 75-85 mph. (with a heavier foot now and then) ;-)

I have defied convention and have been happy with the results. I removed a Holley 650 DP and put on a Holley Street Avenger 770 w/ vacuum secondaries and a electric choke. The 650 was fresh when I took it off so the comparison is valid. The guy who helped me with my build said that if I wasn't happy he'd be glad to put on what ever I wanted. He was right. My mileage has gone up substantially too. That's a great advantage as I filled up at $3.39 a gallon today. I read in one of the Pantera mags last month I think about a flow bench of sorts for carbs and the 770 came off highly rated. What have you done to your engine and what do you want it to do? I think we'll be able to make more accurate recommendations if we know that. At one time I used an 850 Autolite inline if anyone here knows what that was. Great for WOT and not much else. Vince
