Deeb,

The orange and black '73 is for sale by a board member MarkR, see his post at http://pantera.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2250045562/m/2220010134

This car was in Vegas last May and looked great apart from some finishing touches being required, but at that time it was priced higher. It would appear to be more realistically priced now.

Deeb,

Marks car is for to be sold at or around $39,900, the other I have no idea as it is at $40K, not met reserve yet with 6 days left to go, so who knows where it will land. I suspect with a write up that reads "$47K invested in upgrades" = high reserve. Spending that kinda loot on ebay would scare me personally.

I don't know the '72 GT5 replica, but I remember seeing it for sale somewhere previously and quite recently, but cannot remember exactly where, I thought ebay still, but I can't pull it up in completed items, so maybe my memory is fading.

There are a lot of cars on the market away from the ebay forum, besides the PI and PIM listings the best resources I found useful outside ebay were/are www.hemmings.com and ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com a search under De Tomaso on either will turn up a number of Panteras for sale. There's even an 85 GT5 priced at $275K, kinda hopeful I think.

Good luck with the search
Julian
Hi There,

First time poster here. Excuse if I ramble. Recent Pantera purchaser, for the first time in a while. (Have had about 6.) Spent a LONG time in 'other' Euro makes (currently drive and am keeping my 996twin turbo) and recently had the serious hots for another Ferrari.

Then I spotted this thoroughly original 74 Pantera - -

To me - and only my opinion - the original cars are drying up and MAY hold a value edge (up to a point of course). The ones I saw on ebay were nicely but heavily modified, and presumably that's what you're looking for.

The orange one is a nice looking car, not too radically departed from it's original config and what was done looks to have been done well.

If you do a search of "completed" Pantera sales on ebay, you'll see a recent $40k sale of a modified red, late dash car that needed paint. (Still looked pretty darn good though!) Owner stated to have "$80grand" in the car I believe.

Not intending to hijack the post, but what are you guys - the experts - seeing for $ on Condition 1 and Condition 2 Panteras? Any sales prices that can help the original poster here?

I'd love the education too. Thanks,
Deeb,

The '72 GT5 replica is listed on the DuPont Registry, (www.dupontregistry.com) that may be where I remember seing it as I got a free copy at the Concurso Italiano. Anyway it lists for $65K just to show the price differential from Mark's, but it is an 'all steel' conversion.

I guess it comes down to whether your friend is looking for a stock or wide body car. It appears from the posts it may be the latter. There was an '83 red GT5 for sale up in your neck of the woods (well Ontario, it's all North of the 49th, eh!) earlier in the year, priced at around $65K, did it sell?

Julian
Hey Deeb,

That reminded me about the John Scotti GT5 which is right on your doorstep and I looked at their web site, it's still listed for sale but you're probably aware of that.

For similar $$ an original GT5 has to be far more desirable than a conversion.
Hey Julian, yup he wants a wide body but only has $50K. The CDN red '83 GT5 is still for sale (he's coming to our event in Kingston) but it too is over his price range.

About the Scotti car, if you mean the silver one, it went for $78K. The only other one he has is pretty rough and he'll want a lot for it too.

Wes, let me know if you come across any others.

There is a nice white car in CO, an unfinished 4.6 version for $40k. Body and interior is all done. Just need to install engine and finish up work. All the parts are there. Not much left to do according to the owner. My buddy will pay $10K for anyone to finish it.
