Any Dot 4 or Dot 5 fluid will work just fine as long as its changed once a year to prevent rust. Note- DOT 5.1 is silicone-based and has been known to give highly erratic results in hydraulic systems. It is most difficult to bleed of air, is very expensive, does not mix well with regular fluid, has been known to soften seals and is altitude- sensitive. However, it does not attract moisture as much as mineral-based brake fluid.
