George and Coz,
Thanks for the encouragment, the body is ready inside and out, hope to have her blocked and ready for the booth by Friday, 2 coats PPG 9300(straight black) 2 coats 9300 and clear (50/50 mix) 2 coats clear. I'm looking for that DEEP black finish. I'll post more pics later this week.

You might want to consider using a couple more coats of the final clear. The final wet sand with 2000 before buffing it out will remove at least a coat of clear. That will also help get that deep black finish your looking for. Just a thought.
Can't wait to see it finished....It's going to look great I'm sure.

Mark#6808 Is your shop open to doing work on Panteras or is this just a side mission on your personal car.
The work on your car is looking really great!

This shop is set up to do early hotrods, which most (including my other shop)are not set up for.
Minor rust and repaints mostly, structural replacment and major rust, are two areas we choose not to do.
Thanks for the nice words, I'll post pic's with 6808 in color, when she gets back from the trim shop on Tuesday. Still trying for Sep 11 car show, it's going to be tight.

Mark,
Any final pics to post yet?
Any final pics to post yet?
Not yet Carbo,
As with most project cars (even ones owned by the shop owner) It has taken longer than expected. The story goes like this "well as long as we've gone this far....." You fill in the blanks. I'd like to say I'll be at the PI bbq in Dec. I'll post more when I get them.

Mark, I am truly inspired. How, with what grit will you block it? 280 down to 500? Keep the pics coming. lloks like a lot of PPG on your shelf...is that what you will be using?
LPB
We started w/320 and went from there, yes the car was painted with PPG from primer to clear.
Here is a update photo, she's dirty, but cleans up nicely The reason the exterior is dull looking, is beacuse the paint has been cut to cure, and awaiting polish

Looks like you ar coming along nicly. I started on my paint about a week ago. I posted a series in the phoot section about paint without watersanding. More to do............you will see!
Thanks guys, LPB good luck, when the project starts to get you down, I'm here for moral support.
Motor compartment looks great!
Its amazzing what color sanding and polishing will do to a paint job. I'm assuming thats what you mean by cut down

Hey George,
I believe they are 302 heads, not sure what has been done to them though, I've been putting most of my energy into the paint and body, (car ran good before tear down). Once she's painted and put back together, I'll work one the drive train.
