In the link below is the S7 at 2006 Huntington Beach Concourse, front & rear. Security personnel told me not to drool on it.

Yep.. A Ford GT40 replica or a Ford GT would likely be my first choice for stablemates for the Pantera.

Keeping it within 'attainable' a close choice would have to be the Noble M12 or the new M15, Mid engine, Ford Power (albeit V6 Twin Turbo) and 0-60 mph in <3.5 secs. The M12 is around $90K, whereas the new M15 comes in around $150K.

There's a good test drive from the BBC Top Gear program on you tube.

M15 Noble - Top Gear

As an aside the first guy test driving Richard Hammond is recovering from a real bad accident at ~300 mph test driving a rocket powered vehicle on a Yorkshire Airfield recently.

Dan, it's a GTD. Made in the UK in the late 80's. Has an original 60's racing Cobra 289 and, other than driving on the "wrong" (left) side, it's visually a pretty fair replica. I still much prefer driving the Pantera if I'm going on a public road and for more than a short drive.

To me, the Pantera is just an affordable exotic car for us (me) middle class folks. But it is also the best bang for the buck for my wallet.
Which is why I drive it. I can put 10,000 miles on it a year and the cost is very affordable.

But if my wallet was a little fatter, I could think of a couple of other cars I would rather have.

The Lamborghini Diablo would be my first choice stepping up to something else in the 120,000.00 exotic range if I could deal with the cost of parts and the hassle of repairs. There's nothing like a 12 cylinder motor as far as I'm concerned. But with it comes a big price and more maintenance than the Pantera.

Then would come the GT40 in the 150+ range if I got tired of the Diablo, maybe.

After that, There would be nothing else but a Saleen 7 in my garage. (after winning the lottery)

But for now, the Pantera is what I have, drive, enjoy and can afford.

S7 is nice but I like this better...!

Me too Mark. If I could have afforded an original Mk IV version, I woulda bought my absolute all time dream car. But I didn't have a million and a half I could spare at the time. You know how it goes. Wink

Coz, nice to see you stuck with your Pantera. When I was in AZ a few years back I remember you were considering the Diablo instead. Diablo is nice, but the Pantera is more unique and you have change left over for gas.

You bet Jan....

I have many things going on with the Pantera right now, hope to have it back on the road by the end of the month.

When are you coming back out this way ?

Coz, I may not make it to AZ soon. Had relatives with illnesses and it used up my wifes leave, so she needs to build it back up. Then will visit my mom in Sun City and hopefully hook up with all the AZ Pantera boys again.
