No, damn it, it is NOT. Screw that. I took a grinder to non essentially bits and made room for the pipe. NOT sure why replacements do not mimick OEM fitment. Whatever. It is almost done - at least THAT task is. Waiting for various bits and parts to show up via brown trucks and FedEx. Looming like about a week or two for "ignition".

I used -20 Aeroquip for hoses. Want to talk about discomforts?

Do be, do be, do. Is that a pot party? When stoned (so many years ago) I found Nestles chocolate chips were like Godiva chocolate. SO good. Now that I am geezing, I STILL like those chips, but with a class of ice cold milk !!!!!!!!!

Would the 2" one to the water pump be easier to get to on a lift? Many of mine were changed, but not that one. I see why just looking at it through the bulkhead.

Also, what is the best way to change the ones to the expansion tank. I'm thinking just cut them off with a hose cutter, take the tank out and then work the tank and hoses back in?

Just slice the hose lengthwise and peel it off. Lube the coolant pipe with some vaseline and slide the hose on far enough to clear the tank nipple, then slide the hose onto the tank nipple.

I did cut all the various hoses. There is a molded 90deg hose that was substituted with two shorts hoses, four clamps, and a 90deg pipe. Scrapped THAt crap and bought a molded 90deg hose at a parts store. The s shaped pipe up to the water pump was a PIA. Sure seemed to be dimensionally wrong - bends, lengths, etc. Made it work, but not happy with it. The rest was okay. I'm about 75% done with the pipes and hoses. Monday the cooling system will be done, water will be added, and I'll pressure test it. Various "projects" and started to come together. MIGHT try to fire it up later this coming week. Need to check dwell on both sets of points first. And ... so it goes.

That 90 hose was long ago replaced as a bad original idea. The 90 tubing with two different end sizes was the fix

The hose has a tendency of collapsing for some reason.

That's the return side...with the suction on the hose, correct2

Too much suction when the hose is empty is what I would presume.

FWIW, that molded two-size rubber hose from the 1-3/8" lower water pipe to the 2" water pump rubbed the shifter shaft; in several thousand miles, Ford found it rubbed through, which= warranty cost. The convoluted steel adapter was the answer; mentioned in a Tech Service Bulletin update. Now available in rustproof stainless like all the other water pipes in all vendor's cooling system replacements. Note also the OEM Italian worm-screw hose clamps regularly disassembled themselves on the road, so it's good insurance to put those things on the shelf for someone building a full-sized model for show and get some stainless U.S- made ones to drive on (also usually part of the vendors kits).

I will look at all that mess at the front of the engine again. The metal "S" pipe is in place (sure does not seem like a correct fit, but it is what it is) off the lower water pump exit and going to the left pipe going to the radiator. The 90deg is on the shelf. I have the Tech Bulletins. Guess I need to see if I f'ed things up.
