I have the Corbeau race seats and you can forget even sitting in the car if you are over 5'10 or so.I saw the Corbeau classic seats in the copper colored car that is in the Fall2004 issue of PI and the owner, Chris, is very tall. You can buy those seats at PI Motorsports if you like them.
Yes, I do have Corbeau's "Classic Bucket" sets in the Pantera. When I ordered the seats, I found a Corbeau seat bracket part number, but I called Corbeau, and found out that the seat brackets had been discontinued. Corbeau said that I could just use their "universal" seat brackets made for flat floorpans. So I ordered the seats and the brackets. The Universal seat brackets really weren't universal at all. They're a set size, and require you to drill new holes in the floorboards. Rather than doing that, I cut apart the seat brackets and fabricated new brackets that actually fit.

The seats themselves were actually too tall in the cushion area by at least three inches. Fortunately, my girl can do upholstery work, so she cut the cushions down and re-stitched the vinyl.

The seats are also quite skinny in the butt area. I wear a 29 inch waist in pants, and barely fit into the seats.

So all in all, I certainly would reccomend going a different route for seats. We've made these work, but if I were to do it all over again, I'd probably strengthen, and recover stock seats instead. PIMotorsports has some great looking re-worked stock seats at a competative price.

Hope it helps,

-Chris (MacMan)
