I had for six years a customized plate that was incorrect. Imagine my embarrasement when I figured out that my car was indeed a 1973 even though it was built in November of 1972 and it was a GTS not a GT5. How you guys put up with my numbnutsness is beyond me.
So this fall I corrected my monumental blunder. I give you the pictures to redeem myself.

I have to say when I bought 9138 .. I had to look twice at the lettering on the side the S looks like a 5 ... but obviously the body was not a 5 .. but funny thing 9138 was made between two GT5's 9137 & 9139 .... crazy ITALIANS..... LOL

Ron

It was the mexican bandits replying to Humphry Bogarts request for identification after they claimed to be constabulary in the "treasure of Sierra Madre".
Also I had heard that Detomaso choose to call the car a GT5 so he could use all those left over badges he had laying around after the Ford program ended. But that could be just a rumor.
