I believe the one that sold at auction was Jim Webs car at some point (MacArthur's Park, Witchata Linesman, sorry I can't spell).
I think is is CSX3015.
The serial number will be listed at the Auction results on the Barrett-Jackson web page if you need to know for sure.
That wasn't Cosby's Car. Cosby's is in England still. Cosby's is CSX 3303.
It is my understanding that 3015 was built for Shelby as the ultimate Cobra and Cosbys was the factory duplicate, or maybe better described as its sister car.
Cosby's was crashed severly in Corvalis, Oregon by Tony Maxy in '73. He had purchased the car from Cosby. He drove it over a cliff and Gordon Gimble bought the remains. Eventually Brian Angliss (AC cars, England)bought it at some point. I think around '75-6.
He "rebuilt it" to his own specs. It no longer resembles it's factory configuration.
Aparently Shelby's was still quite original. Harvey Cluxton from AZ I believe was the owner of record at auction time. But who knows with these cars. They have become things of legend and are no longer for mere mortals.
So Cosby's wife says he's an idiot? Well, long story short, Web called me in response to a "Cobra Wanted Ad" around '78 from Toronto.
He "needed" $115,000 for it. I guess I did too.
It was rumored that the IRS was interested in the entire situation.
I wasn't really an idiot, just a poor bastard. I guess I still am.
