Do any of our Pantera Vendors think it is a Profitable Business Venture to Offer a Rust Proofing Service similar to the DINITROL/DINOL service offered by Dinol AB?, Sweden, "Specialists in Rustproofing?"
This company has been refered to in a Technical Advice & Questions topic, submitted by Bjorn Carlsson, of the Swedish DeTomaso Club on 10-20-2002.
I'm a self employed guy and I like new profitable sidelines, and I've tried quite a few, and made money, and cut off unprofitable services when I did not make money.
I'd offer $1,000 for such service. Such service can be as a "Franchise" of the Dinitrol/Dinol Brand Name, with a percentage going to them, for use of their name & technology. Such service can be performed however you like to set up the service. Pay a consulting fee, one time charge for their technical illustrations and a guy to come over from Sweden and train your service tech, etc. Forget franchising, your business decision, not mine.
Once you know how to do it, it could not be that difficult or have high labor, equipment, or product cost to perform, thus a pretty good return on investment. Higher profit margins come from higher technology products & services, right?
Maybe customers may have a couple of other things done to their Panteras while they're in your shop, you never know....
Many of us want to drive our car whenever we want to, without regard to the weather, e.g.: tough day at work, I'll feel better after I drive my Pantera..., have a better outlook for work tomorrow. Everybody's happy.
Not trying to tell you how to run your business, but it seems where there's a need, a dollar can be made! Business opportunity. Could even sub-contract this service, set a relative up in a side-line business. It seems to me we're all afraid of rain, we all want to protect our investments!
Seems like you've all got the markeing in place, not really gonna increase overhead there.... What's the risk? Maybe you can investigate, post a question on this Bulletin Board: "How Many Of You Will Pay $1,000 To Protect Your Investment? Introductory Offer, Good Through ___/___/___, call for appointment."
Respectfully submitted for your consideration.
