Factory wings are made out of aluminum. The wing portion is simply foam encased with aluminum. The side supports are all aluminum. Very light!

Aftermarket wings are fiberglass and can be heavy I suppose. I'm not sure on the Hall wing..

Be careful you don't get a strut that's too strong requiring a fair amount of pressure to close and possibly damaging your rear deck.

What's the history on your car?

Pick your favorite vendor - I imagine they all have the same struts. It is worth whatever surcharge they charge as you can effectively bend your rear decklid of you use one that is too strong, and it won't stay up if it isn't strong enough. Make sure to specify that your car has a wing.

If your car does have a heavier-than-stock rear wing, I suppose the worst that can happen is that your decklid won't stay up like it is supposed to! But I don't know how to tell you to tell the difference between a Hall wing and another one - I don't know that there is a visible difference...
