Another "which way does it go question"!

Flap outside or inside?

Old one was installed with the flap inside and it caught every time you removed the tub.

I believe it goes flap out as shown in the photo. This provides a tight joint between the gasket and the body which is a good thing if you get caught in a rainstorm. The water will flow down and off the rear of the car and should not wind up sneaking underneath a solid and intact gasket
