The passenger door handle return spring has snapped after being unused for so many years it had rusted solid.
I have the door handle removed but the pin seems solid within the metal and moves within the plastic, removal seems impossible without breaking the chrome door handle itself.

If I could remove the pin a new spring would do the job, (if available) or what car is the handle from originally so I can search for a replacement? best Pete.

Pete,

As far as anyone knows, the door handles, inside and outside, are specific to the Pantera.

There are look-alikes on other Italian cars, but each is unique.

You can probably remove the stock pin using a thin cut-off disk, as on a Dremel tool. Then perhaps a small button head bolt and nut could serve as a replacement.

Springs are offered by some vendors.

Vendors also offer other solutions.

This one from PI Motorsports, PIM.

Thanks to both for the information, am amazed that the handles are only made for De Tomaso, but found a new spring at Pantera Performance and its to be shipped tomorrow, only $10 too. I will dremel out the pin and get one made to the spec shown in the pic, lovely info thanks again to you, Best Pete. Will save up for the UK import taxes, they are unbelievable!
2X on the 3-d print thing, because OEM bodies are flimsey and billet bodies are flat, forcing the steel door skin into an unnatural shape. Except for Larry Stock's billet bodies which are contour-cut to fit the door skins.

The roll pin is supposed to be a slip-fit in the assembly- I pushed ours out with Vice-Grip pliers. When you replace the pin, be careful of the length- a couple of owners scarred up their paint around the opening while installing a new body & a too-long pin.

Not true. The only buckets that I have seen that are flat were from Hall. IPSCO in CO makes very nice billet buckets that have the correct contour and I believe that most ,if not all ,the vendors sell them.
