George, sorry if this topic is not in the correct forum. Please feel free to move it.

A previous owner of #4134 was a little too aggressive with a buffer. The white plastic ID plate in my driver's door has most of the printed info buffed off. Most of the venders sell replacements. However, they do not offer stamping of the embossed vin and build date.

Does anyone know of a company that can do this with the proper type set/size etc.

Thanks,

Jeff

The driver's door plate in my Pantera is not engraved or embossed at all. The chassis number and manufacture date are written in pen, and then those two boxes were covered with clear plastic (tape?) to prevent the numbers from fading, damage, etc.

The plate is made of a fiber material, not metal, it can't be embossed, striking it would merely break it.

Hi Jeff,

I bought some sheets of clear self adhesive plastic that can be used in a laser printer. Then, using my computer I printed out the build date and vin in their correct locations. Then I wrapped the entire id plate in this self adhesive label. It looks like it came from the factory this way......E-mail me with your build date and full vin and give me a snail mail address and I'll hook you up.
