I guess that EBay has finally decided that it needs to protect it's cash cow. They have formed a Fraud Investigations Team (FIT) to work with law enforcement agencies. My office received an infomrational bulletin from EBay outlining the services and support that they will provide in fraud investigations. It looks like their main function is to assist law enforcement agencies in expiditing/obtaining the necessary records/evidence to track these bad guys. I feel safer already. NOT!

Well...isn't that big of them. They're going to cooperate as long as somebody else does the work. Peachy.
I will be impressed when they form an investigative group to GO AFTER these thieves and PRESENT EVIDENCE to the law enforcement agencies. They can't get everyone, but there are repeat offenders that are operating at-will on their site. These should be identified and prosecuted by E-BAY directly. Not wait until some poor schmuck gets ripped off and tries to do something about it.
E-bay is raking in hundreds of millions of dollars and spend a pittance on security. There must be some threat to them by some legal authority...otherwise, they couldn't care less. I think state and federal prosecutors should investigate them for failing to combat interstate and international fraud originating on their site.

Don't get all excited and weak at the knees now.

Ebay has been accused of being the largest "fencing" operation in the world.

The authorities are talking about the auctions, not the people who run Ebay.

So for good Public Relations EB has promissed to work with all local authorities to minimumize the fencing.

They still don't care if you or I get screwed. That was legit.
