Engine paint colour

I think the darker shade of blue is called Ford Corporate Blue and the folks at POR paints offer it in a half pint can. It is tough stuff.

This is how my motor came out after Larry helped me with it.

That could be my car..apart from mine's yellow!Thats the engine colour I'm after for sure...

Nope. I'm pretty sure Ford Corporate Blue is the wrong color for the Pantera, at least for a 72 pre-L. The correct color is actually a Mercury dark blue if I recall correctly. When I get home next week I'll go out to the garage and check the part numbers on the can I have, which was an excellent match for the original color on my engine.

I've ordered a couple of ford blue engine paint in rattle cans from ebay so it's a process of elimination, it'll be the 3 set of cans I've bought so if I don't paint the engine at least I can do my bathroom!

This site suggests there are two proper mustang engine colors, a lighter version to 66 or so then 'Ford Corporate Blue' after that.
